Moner Pukur is a Residence and Homestay of Ananya, Manish and Ankhi in Santiniketan. Situated exclusively in the lap of nature behind the Sonajhuri forest, about 10 mins to Viswabharati University, it offers you spacious rooms, a large double height living and dining space with a long wide verandah and a small cafe overlooking the lawn, the pond and the organic garden beyond. Moner Pukur promises you of early morning wake-up call every day from scores of birds and rays of the rising sun. The house offers you food at a modest cost with fresh handpicked fruits and vegetables from its organic garden. There is a pond with fish if you want to indulge in angling. And while you wait for the fish to turn up, there are ducks to give you company. The friendly staff is available round the clock to take care of your needs. There are plenty of nooks and corners in the estate which will give you a cosy space to write, meditate or do your yoga. The large living space offers opportunities for workshops, conferences. But if walking is your thing, you can take stroll around the place or simply step out and walk through the tribal village.

Architect, Urban Planner and a conservation architect professional with a bachelors in Architecture from Jadavpur University, Kolkata; Masters in Urban Planning from IIT, Kharagpur and Conservation from University of York, UK. Author of various books and articles on architecture and conservation and faculty of architecture in various universities in India and abroad; Manish is the recipient of the UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage Award of Distinction, Sutanuti Samman Award and was a part of the team leaders for the Nomination Dossier of Santiniketan inscribed in the World Heritage List by Unesco in September 2023.

As Santiniketan makes it to the UNESCO's World Heritage List, Manish Chakraborti who was a part of the team leaders for the preparation of the UNESCO Nomination Dossier for Santiniketan, shares his thoughts on the value of the place.

আমাদের রাজ্যে ভ্রমণ পিপাসু মানুষের সংখ্যা অগণিত, দূর দূরান্তে বেড়াতে যাওয়া ছাড়াও হাতের কাছে উইকেন্ড ডেস্টিনেশন এ যাওয়ার মানুষও অনেক আছেন। কলকাতার কাছে এমন এক মনোরম উইকেন্ড ডেস্টিনেশন শান্তিনিকেতন। হোটেল ,হোম স্টে অনেক কিছুই এখানে মাথাচাড়া দিয়ে উঠেছে । কাজে,বিশ্রামে এবং বেড়াতে শান্তি নিকেতনে আসছি 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟕 থেকে, নিরালা নিরিবিলি ,বর্ষার রিম ঝিম শব্দের শান্তিনিকেতন কে বদলে যেতে দেখছি ভুঁইফোঁড় হোটেল ,হোম স্টের ভিড়ে। আর এই বদলে যাওয়া প্রেক্ষাপটে প্রকৃতির কোলে ,সবুজের ভিড়ে নিরালা নিভৃতে অথচ আধুনিক সব সুবিধা সহ ঠিক একটি ধানের শীষের উপর একটি শিশির বিন্দুর মত সদ্য গড়ে উঠেছে মনের পুকুর হোম স্টে। যারা শান্তিনিকেতন এসেছেন অফিসের কাজে তাদের জন্যে আদর্শ জায়গা , ইন্টার নেট আছে , নিরালা নিভৃতে থাকা গেলেও পৃথিবী থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন নয়। যারা ভাবছেন মোটামুটি একটা ২০ জন সহকর্মীদের নিয়ে কয়েদিন কোন গুরুতর বিষয়ে একটু মস্তিষ্কে ঝড় তুলবেন অর্থাৎ ব্রেন স্ট্রর্ম করবেন চলে আসুন অকপটে । আর সাপ্তাহান্তিক কিংবা পরিকল্পিত ছুটি কাটাবার আদর্শ জায়গা , একাই হোক কিংবা সপরিবারে।
